MANDATORY SNOW CHAINS OR TIRES FOR ALL MOTOR VEHICLES ON A4 VENEZIA - TRIESTE, A23 PALMANOVA - UDINE, A28 PORTOGRUARO - CONEGLIANO E SULLA A34 VILLESSE GORIZIA.
Managing road conditions in winter (from 15 November to 15 April every year) requires the careful and timely planning of actions to treat the road surface both pre-emptively and during precipitation.
All motorway assistance vehicles, owned by the company or by third parties, are operational within 30 minutes of the call received from the Radio Information Centre.
The Snow Centres have stocks of chemicals used to prevent ice forming on the road surface and to clear snow from the road.
These operations are handled by the Urgent maintenance units of Palmanova, Cessalto and Portogruaro in their respective areas of competence.
The Concessionary has introduced a special order of the obligation of snow chains or winter tires mounted on board the vehicle, during the period from November 15th to April 15th on the stretch of the A4 between Redipuglia and Sistiana for all Heavy Good Vehicles with the total mass greater than 7.5 tons.
